Exhibition Overview

The exhibition features Eesar's "Poetic Limbo" series. His artwork heavily draws formal exploration and aesthetic inspiration from the historic Herat miniature painting tradition. In this specific series, Eesar utilizes abstraction to reflect upon the modern, turbulent condition of Afghanistan. [2]

The curated pieces explore the emotional and physical states of existing in a space of "in-betweens"—navigating the delicate divides between return and departure, peace and conflict, and gain and loss. The figures within his abstract canvases are depicted as searching for traces of sacred, guiding light amid an overarching limbo.
