Pesta Boneka 10 “Holding Hands” marks the 20 year anniversary of @papermoonpuppet and the spirit it brings along the way. In a period of distance and division, holding hands is a metaphor and also an invitation to cross over borders, collaborate, and move together. A reminder that we could grow together. 🤝

Visual Artist Ruth Marbun (@utayutay) explores the theme as more than illustration. A hand only works when every finger performs its part and when one finger is hurt, the whole hand moves differently. It’s a reflection of how the ecosystem functions: gesture by gesture, dependent on every part doing its share. 🪢

This year, they will celebrate the journey with 193 artists, 33 groups from 24 countries, that will arrive in Yogyakarta to move in one body for a week. Many distinct parts, one coordinated form.
